  1. I believe he had Tommy John surgery.
  2. It depends on who the player is. If it's a top prospect who's performing well, you obviously put him on, if it's a middling prospect struggling in A+ or AA, then you put Jeffress on.
  3. Not it doesn't. He's years away from being a free agent. Not enough service time.
  4. What makes you think they won't do both? Obviously they're going to help him with rehab and whatever, but they're also going to protect their asset. If that's as simple as putting him on the 40 man roster, they would be pretty stupid not to do it.
  5. Wow. Manny has been brilliant tonight. Just a fantastic outing. Under 100 pitches through 8 innings.
  6. So you think Hardy is going to nearly double his salary from this year after the year he's had? I doubt that. I'm not sure Hardy has the same trade value he had last offseason, if that's the case I'd probably keep him at least until the trade deadline.
  7. WHOA BRAUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Nice. Kershaw is losing control. Come on Rivera, make your one game this month count!
  9. Only two were hits. Nice job by Manny getting out of it with only one run though.
  10. I was only partially listening. What the heck were Brian and Bill talking about Gamel and right field for?
  11. I get it, it just doesn't make sense and it's truly awful for Arizona. Catchers have value beyond an overpaid defensive replacement and a utility player.
  12. So you really think that the D'Backs are going to trade a decent catcher for a completely useless Hall and a utility guy just to add $3.65M to their payroll next year but to save $5.25M on the final year of his contract? I'm actually done debating this. If you can't see how awful that is for Arizona, you never will.
  13. I don't expect him to do that which is why I would trade him now.
  14. The question is why would we want Blackburn? He doesn't walk anyone, which is nice, but he doesn't have great stuff and he doesn't strike anybody out which would be fine if he got a ton of groundballs, but he doesn't do that either.
  15. Ignore what fact? There's no way they trade Snyder for Hall's contract and a utility player. I guarantee at least 15 other teams offer something better than that.
  16. Yeah, I really doubt that. You have to overpay for catchers in the trade market, not give them a terrible player and a utility guy as well as saving them a little money. I wouldn't mind Bard on a cheap contract.
  17. This is interesting too. The problem I see with McGehee is that I don't think he's as good as he's been this year. He has a .353 BABIP, I doubt he can sustain that. He would probably be the first one I'd trade since I don't think Weeks would have much value due to the injury and lack of track record (although McGehee doesn't have much of a track record either), I'm not sure McGehee could play the outfield and if he did, could he play RF, would you have to move Braun to RF and play McGehee in LF? I just feel that McGehee is replaceable with Heether and he probably should be dealt if we get a good offer.
  18. But he's been switching between 2nd and 3rd base all year. It's not like he played 2nd before he got hurt and then switched to 3rd after he got hurt.
  19. Of third baseman who have played 150 innings, he has the worst UZR/150 at -48.3.
  20. Hudson and Escobar would interest me on incentive laden deals.
  21. Because he's going to be valuable off the bench! I think if Melvin could get a quality pitcher for McGehee he would (I hope) do it in a heartbeat. Gamel, Escobar, Weeks, Fielder is probably going to be the starting infield. Hall will be back, Counsell may be back and Heether could take a bench role.
