  1. Guy was running to 2nd on a pitch in the dirt, Kendall threw high and wide towards the first base side, Counsell jumped and made the tag on Nieves' head while he was still in the air to get the out.
  2. Nothing will beat the "What color are the stitches on a baseball?" question from yesterday.
  3. Horrible defense by Braun that won't go down as an error, but cost the Brewers a base.
  4. I feel the same way. It was okay at first, but now it's just getting annoying.
  5. What color are the stitches on a baseball? They have to make these questions up. They just have to.
  6. The Brewers aren't even worth the effort it takes to change the font color to pink right now.
  7. How can you walk 9 in 2.1 innings? Geez Gulin.
  8. Exactly. Melvin wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't at least put them on the market. If they don't bring back the value that he deems appropriate, then keep them. I hope he trades them if he gets a good offer though.
  9. They have already sold 2.7 million tickets. Is it really going to hurt ticket sales that much if they trade Cameron (who everybody seems to hate whenever there's a discussion about him on the radio), Hoffman and Hardy would probably cause a backlash, Hardy maybe less so because most of the casual fans have heard of Escobar. But I can't imagine fans saying "let's go to less Brewers games next year because the Brewers won 72 instead of 81."
  10. We're actually in 4th place.
  11. I've seen him pitch several times. He walks nearly six per 9 innings as a starter, his strikeout rate goes down to 8.56 per 9 innings, which is still good. He's given up 11 HR's in 55.2 innings as a starter and has a 5.17 ERA and 1.60 WHIP as a starter. His FIP as a starter is 5.80. As far as his pitches, his pitch type values seem to support what I'm saying. Good fastball, slightly above average splitter, below average with everything else.http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=9346&position=P
  12. His slider is below average, his splitter is probably slightly above average and his fastball is straight. Which leads me back to my main point. Can you be a successful starting pitcher with a straight fastball, slightly above average splitter, a below average slider and horrible control? I have my doubts.
  13. Am I the only one who doesn't consider Morrow a long-term rotation option? I think he's a reliever. Big fastball, no control and bad breaking/off-speed pitches. Doesn't sound like somebody you would want starting. I also think it's pretty funny that the Mariners are considered sellers and we're considered buyers even though the Mariners have a better record than us. I really hope Doug considers selling instead of buying.
  14. Sadly, he was probably the best option for what was available in the minors.
  15. I'm guessing Cameron and Hoffman could bring something good back. Good to see the fans getting on Hart. He hasn't hustled since 2007.
  16. Cameron is really good. Braun and Hart are average. We have a worse outfield defense by a pretty big margin. Washburn's BABIP is .251, the second best number of his career, the best was in 2000 when it was .203 and he only threw 84 innings. He's also giving up the least amount of HR/9 in his career and has the lowest HR/FB% of his career since 2002. He's also pitching in a very good pitchers park. I'm not saying we shouldn't trade for him, I'm just saying that we shouldn't give up very much and we shouldn't expect him to be as good as he's looked this year.
  17. Where's he going to play in AAA though? Gamel has 3B (unless they call him back up), Escobar has SS. Maybe they call up Iribarren and Hall can play 2B?
  18. I don't even know why they let Witrado do the game blog. This is pretty much what it consists of. Braves don't score. Neither do the Brewers. Braves still haven't scored. Brewers score two. You can just follow a box score on Yahoo or ESPN and get something more in-depth than that.
  19. The main reason that Washburn is so good this year has been the outfield defense. They have/had the best in the game with Gutierrez/Ichiro/Chavez. I know Chavez is hurt now, but that's still a fantastic outfield defense which is great for an extreme flyball pitcher like Washburn. We have Cameron, who's really good and a couple of average defenders flanking him. I think there would definitely be some regression there. Balls that Ichiro, Gutierrez and Chavez could get to, Hart, Cameron and Braun wouldn't be able to. That leads to more hits and more runs. Morrow is just meh to me. Between the game do you want to start or be a closer and the fact that he's not particularly good and the whole idea of getting them is just a very blah move to me. I wouldn't mind it, as long as we wouldn't give up much, but Jack Z. isn't going to just give them away, so I really don't see a match.
  20. My brother is at this game for a Bachelor Party. Please win, Brewers or he's going to get even more drunk than he already planned on getting. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
