  1. i think the biggest problem is that we acquired a righty at a price that we would of had to pay 2 years ago, when his numbers are worse. Plus there are only 61 games left, so if he will probably only be in 30-40 games for us, and then he is a free agent. That being said if this is a move that helps up win the central, i won't care if we lost inmann.
  2. they are on fsn-hd. I think i am going to go to the game anyway, just am curious
  3. the pitching matchups look good this weekend, so i am optimistic for a good series.
  4. I agree Brian, having only 4 OF's puts us in a bind but since gross or gwynn can't come up for a couple of days, the only choice is dillon. So unless we trade a reliever for an OF, i think its grant.
  5. just saw on the brewers website that espn is going to carry the game on wednesday. Will it be blacked out in Milwaukee. I thought the there are local regulations for the wednesday game but not sunday or monday, is that right? (updated thread title --1992)
  6. 1. Dan Haren. 2. Barry Zito 3. Eric Byrnes 4. Scott Podsednik 5. David Eckstein
  7. well it has to balfour. There is no other option. I like each pitching matchup this weekend atleast, lets now get some w's.

  9. "I would like to apologize to my Falcons teammates for not being with them at the beginning of spring training." quoted by michael vick through his attorney (guess he should of consulted with mike before making such a statement www.star-telegram.com/spo...82695.html (added tag --1992)
  10. agreed, though i can't stand charlie stiener in the afternoon.
  11. you are assuming he will be a type A free agent. If, and hopefully not, his numbers dwindle this season he may no longer be one since stats from last and this season are taken into account.
  12. this was another tough loss and with the way the cubs are playing it would be easy to give up, but we are getting linebrink tomorrow, we have 5 days to make another trade, and we are still 1.5 games up. A split in st louis and a good homestand and we are back on track.
  13. if the team has a good homestand, everyone will be back on board. I am not leaving the bandwagon. Even if i am the only one and shaking and repeating to myself " its still good" " its still good"
  14. my god is it negative here, don't even want to read through this thread. Then the team is going to come home and take most of the games and everyone is going to be up again. I never saw people give up on the season with a 1.5 game lead. I had a guy at work even say he doesn't care anymore and let the cubs get first place and he is a big brewer fan. lets wake up people.
  15. i'm going on tuesday and i am giving him one if he gets into the game. While I think we may of given up too much to get him, I think he makes the 07 bullpen better.
  16. he wanted us to get rid of all of our minor leaguers, cause prospects hardly ever work out. Its a shame that he couldn't stick around and we didn't get to hear about how they should trade yo or braun for some proven talkent.
  17. good for brady, he deserves to be in a pennant race, even as a 5th outfielder. I too thought he would get a minor league contact and have to earn a spot on the major league roster. Guess there is always a spot for a guy who gives everything he's got all of the time.
  18. if we win the central and linebrink helps out, noone is going to care about minor league championships or if Inmann makes it to the show in 2 years.
  19. I was pretty shocked when the trade went down yesterday evening, but I will reserve judgment for now. I think those who say we gave up too much will admit that the major league team is better now than it was before. We will loose balfour and get linebrink. I hate giving up what we gave up too, but truth be told inmann stuggled in his transaction to AA ball. Of course he is young and was facing more advanced hitters so he may straighten himself out. I hope the best for him. Thatcher was someone I felt could help us down the stretch on the big league club. He was though an older prospect facing younger hitters in AAA ball. I am interested to see how he does in san diego. Ill admit I do not know enough about garrison to make a judgement.
  20. the brewers depth is better than the reds, but i still think he is giving players too many days off.
  21. i doubt it, i think as brain said if something was done it would be for pitching help. Maybe the team waited so long to make a roster move in hopes of making a trade and doug realized that nothing was going to happen today and just sent gwynn down.
  22. I think you created a monster Brian. Not enough info to get us excited, enough to keep us intrigued.
  23. I got tickets for that game and it be cool to see that, but I can't say id want him to beat my team.
  24. id do that trade, but hardly would call that reliable, should be in the rumors thread anyway.
