  1. sports.espn.go.com/espn/p...eri/070705 something good from espn, here is an article comparing each teams first half with a player on the 82 brewers. Not sure if this is the most appropriate place but i am going to put it here. good read. EDIT: AL teams sports.espn.go.com/espn/p...eri/070706 Devil Rays (Ned Yost) ouch
  2. i don't watch sportscenter anymore, and rarely watch baseball tonight, depending on who is on the show that night. I get more annoyed that espn finds it impossible to broadcast a game that doesn't involve the mets, yankees, or red sox.
  3. I don't think there is anything wrong with Spurling, minus how Ned uses him. The games he has lost for us (minnesota, kc), where ones that he had no business being in. You need a mop up guy like Spurling in the pen. Id rather have him do it than Yo or Villy. Ned though seems to like putting him in late during a tie game. No way he should be in a game under those circumstances unless there is noone to pitch.
  4. I think if the bucks loose this draft pick, and he re-enters the draft, teams like Minnesota will have to think hard before taking him.
  5. Roma's are good and cheap. My favorite is Tombstone though.
  6. hopefully yo is ready to go, i think its going to be an early call today.
  7. well one more out and we get out of it with only 1 run, not too bad
  8. well thats one out atleast, come on cappy bail out your d
  9. i hear that mike, atleast the last 2 hours of my day should go by faster.
  10. yeah you would think they would let graffy play against the lefty, if they were going to give jj an off day. He has been hitting better and has some experience at short
  11. howard was 25 last year, which makes what prince is doing even a little more impressive
  12. i am going down to summerfest to see skillet and lewis black, so the fireworks will be some great entertainment between shows.
  13. qrk, i think you were as confused as i was by howards column. If Yi sits out a year he is subject to the draft again.
  14. i think it is, just because you have so many teams that are completely done half way through the season. The stats by twinsbrewers world series is a little misleading because we have 6 teams while the east division only have 5, which the 2 west divisions only have 4. Therefore it isn't completely fair to add up games under/over 500.
  15. that would be a big blow to the bucks to not get anything for Yi and not get the rights to him. I think he is very tradeable so if the bucks get the idea he would rather hang out for a season than play for the bucks, they may have to trade him to the highest bidder. Thanks for clearing up the rules, I was not aware of that rule either.
  16. when the broke out the uniforms before last season, yost said that there was a possibility he would break them out for a non-sunday home game. The uniforms appear in both baseball video games. I don't think it would be a problem for them to wear them. The issue is that its another case of going back to 82. Lets try to make some memories with this club instead of breaking out memories from 25 years ago. I think its a slap in the face to this years club to do that.
  17. i thought the bucks had his rights forever, according to an article in the journal sentinel yesterday. www.jsonline.com/story/in...?id=626546
  18. upon thinking about the pick of yi for the last couple days i think it still is a mistake. If we can get him to sign here, the best case scenario is that he plays out his contract and leaves the first moment he can. This is he extremely young, if he is as old as he claims, we are going to develop him for someone else.
  19. guess SgtClueLs should take back his comments from the last page. This couldn't of started any better.
  20. he is their top prospect, much higher rated than Slowey
  21. i don't think vegas is going to get a team after the all star game, but I could see a move to Kenosha or Racine, or Oklahoma City. Anyway for those interested the audio with Harris is on 1250's website already (www.sportsradio1250.com)
  22. i hope it all works out, the international attention would be fun, i just think this is a big headache.
  23. thats the lineup i expected, i am happy with it.
  24. from simmons blog last night 5:04: Uh-oh. Milwaukee just took Yi Jianlian at No. 6 even though they weren't on his list of acceptable cities because of its lack of a Chinese population ... or for that matter, any population other than good-natured, heavyset Caucasians who enjoy dark beer and fried food. This is gonna end badly. You'll see Brett Favre booed at Lambeau before you see Yi putting on a Bucks uniform. (Another bad sign: We learned tonight that Yi's first name is pronounced "E," which means you could call this pick an "E-6." Literally.) 5:08: Yi's interpreter-less interview with Stu Scott wins the ESPY for "Best impersonation of Andre the Giant by a Chinese guy" and "Biggest lock to be turned into a YouTube clip by at least 500 different people." Although you have to admire him for doing it. I'm starting to come around on Yi -- the thought of him shovelling out his car in minus-10 degree weather in January while fighting back tears and screaming, "Why????? Why?????" in Chinese is delightful for some reason. Too bad they'll trade him. If the Chinese government can torture Jack Bauer for two years, they can definitely break the Bucks. sports.espn.go.com/espn/p...ons/070629
