  1. Matt Holliday is apparently very available right now. Trading with Colorado IMO makes a lot of sense. It seems they want pitching prospects back, but they also need to replace Holliday when they deal him. Why not a: Mike Cameron, Matt LaPorta, and Jeremy Jeffress + 2 other guys like (Zach Jack/Brad Nelson) Im pretty sure this could get it done. It would be an upgrade in our OF with Hart moving to Center and we'd have a guy for years to come who is an All-Star and playoff proven? Plus he plays every day, CC plays every 5th day and will be gone at the end of the season.
  2. If youre going to toss all sorts of prospects at a rental, your franchise will never become viable. If they are willing to deal LaPorta+Escobar.. they should be inquiring about Tim Lincecum or pitchers in that mold who actually have several years of arbitration left, that way we arent giving away these guys for nothing after this year.
  3. why would you move Hardy off SS to begin with at all? Escobar has 16 errors in AA right now. He is not a defensive improvement on JJ Hardy. Hardy is a lot more consistent than Escobar at SS. If anything, you move Escobar to 2b... and move Rickey Weeks in a deal for CC. Weeks+Taylor Green+Pena+Brad Nelson for CC.
  4. I think you see how Gagne does this month. If he keeps the ball down, he is pretty good. If not.. he is very hittable. If he does well, yes.. I think he is our 8th inning guy. If not... you have to look elsewhere.
  5. I'd like them to make a play for Tim Lincecum. He can be had... the Giants have so many weak areas that a multiprospect trade with Carlos V or Manny P would do the trick.. IMO.
  6. too much for Felix... I love him too, but Hart / Hardy / Parra? Yikes.
  7. Prince really needs to check his ego at the door. Obviously, he is an emotional guy, but in my opinion he is a ticking time bomb. Anyone else get this feeling from him. It just seems like he is so angry at life that he forgets perspective and the natural order of things. Whether it be in game, where he gets heated.. I mean HEATED every time a pitcher comes remotely close to hitting him... or hitting him. Or whether it be in the press in comments made toward his father (who is a dirt bag.... but don't let him bother you now, c'mon- the only reason he is an issue is because Prince makes him one. Lastly, this whole contract issue will probably turn into a mess... seeing that 1. Prince has a very short fuse and is seemingly immature and 2. Scott Boras. This whole thing will end as a trainwreck and in my opinion come 2010, the Brewers will be in a great position to deal Prince Fielder to the American League for a glut of prospects/ Major league ready players. Im not all that worried about it, because unless things change, i'd rather see Milwaukee invest their money in guys like Ryan Braun, Corey Hart, Rickey Weeks, and JJ Hardy... as they will be cheaper and less of head cases.
  8. Im not sure what it would take to get him, but I'd imagine it'd probably have to be Gallardo, Villenueva, or Ryan Braun as starting points.
