  1. Gagne, Turnbow, Cameron.... all have been mentioned or suspended for PEDs. Bonds would be a bad signing. He's a complete cancer to clubhouses. Even if he wasnt.. i think it sends a bad message to young people.
  2. couple days in the clubhouse for a night with Marisa Miller... I dont know if Im mad at him.
  3. fact is that Fielder was due for a meltdown. This will be a re-occurring theme for the rest of his career I think. It's not that he isn't a good guy, I think he probably is. But... he has a temper, he wants to suceed.. and he's a little bit of a hothead in bad times. What should Ned do? Nothing on the field. I say you embarrass the guy somehow, bring him back down to earth. Maybe Have Prince wrestle a greased pig in the lockerroom or something........ Seriously, this isn't a big deal. Parra was firmly planted on the bench after the shoving. Although it looked like he was going there anyhow...... but yeah, it looked like he was pissed at himself and Prince for talking to him.. which is understandable. The guy gave up 6 runs on 4 freakin hits... that sucks. As for what this will do for the team. It will only help this team. This team is a bunch of fighters anyhow. Anything to take their minds off of striking out alot is a good thing IMO.
  4. 1. Braun 2. Sheets 3. Prince 4. Hardy 5. Parra 8495424. Mota 8495425. Shouse
  5. I think the whole contract thing is still messing with him. Couple that with not paying his taxes... and being completely outplayed by what was the "other guy" on this team is all probably getting to him. It's a lot of pressure being the face of the franchise, but I think it's even more pressure filled when someone surplants you in what are supposed to be your best seasons of your life.
  6. I'd be ecstatic if Gamel hit .300 in the majors his first year. That being said, odds are he probably wont. But can he, sure thing. So many prospects have had good minor league stints in AA and AAA.. and yes, even top prospects. I just disagree that Gamel will produce similiar numbers to Prince. It's hard to find many major leaguers in their first couple years that have.... sure some have, but less than 1% is probably a fair number. Is Gamel that kind of guy? I don't know, but let's at least be fair to the kid and not expect the moon.
  7. It wasnt the best bit of managing IMO either. But it's hard to argue with the results since May. As the Joker said, "Why so Negative?"
  8. I guess man, Bill Hall has been playing well. 3TO has not. It's not too hard to estimate who Yost will bat in the 9th even against a RHP. Bill has been the hot and better bat. He has 3 game winning hits this week. That is nothing to shake one's head at. As for batting for Cameron.. I think 3TO could have hit in that spot. Situationally, 3TO is not very good unless he is given consistent ABs. Unfortunately for Russell, the better player is Bill Hall and he will play unless he slumps again. Kendall had a few clutch hits recently, so I doubt I'd have pulled kendall in that spot with the pitcher next *3to hits here. But for Cam.. yeah, I think I would have done that. But I cant recall, did Yost burn Kapler earlier in the game? Anyhow, the brewers are finding ways to win right now. Messing with it to get guys ABs more consistenly would be silly. I love me some 3TO, but you gotta be realistic about it too.
  9. Gamel is still a prospect. Saying he could produce at the same level as a guy that almost won the MVP last season is probably a little bit of a stretch. Now if you said he could out produce Lyle Overbay, I'd say it's definitely a possibilty. But Prince Fielder? I dont think that is a fair estimate to put on the kid.
  10. Ned is doing the right thing. 3TO gets hot for a little bit then goes in the crapper for a while.. maybe a long while. It's his MO. Although Bill Hall has really bad numbers in May and June.. his July is looking up. If you play the stock market at all, you look at trend lines. 3TOs trend is negative right now.. Bill H is in a climb despite the latest little lull. Christ, the guy hit two game winning Hrs too... let the man play. 3TO is the back up. He will probably play once or twice a week from here on out, which is about all he should play. He's a great LH bat off that bench and is immensely valuable to us in spots where we need a sac fly or a home run. Yost needs to find his spots to use 3TO and use him, but he doesnt need to magically create them just to do it. They will come. Branyan will be boss again.. just let it come, dont force it.
  11. relative cheap... 10 million for 1 year with options for the next 2 years is relative cheap for a guy who hit 50 hrs last season. Billy Beane has kept good players before. See Eric Chavez. You just have to pick and choose. Maybe they will sign Fielder long turn.. maybe not. But its not worth trading him yet.
  12. You dont trade your most popular clubhouse guy who produces quite well for minor league pitching, especially when you are a contending team and you control him for 3 years on the relative cheap.
  13. Oh and as far as Lineups go- The brewers have a lineup that I'd think pitchers would fear more. Braun/Fielder/Hart... plus pretty much everyone can take you deep. As far as rotations go. The brewers have the better Starting Ro (No one can match Sheets+CC --- Webb/Haren doesn't even match them)... but the Pen definitely swings toward the Cubs.
  14. I would say about early June. Once they solidified a lead in the Central over STL they started to become nervous. The Brewers were 10.5 out in June and are now 3 out in mid-july. Plus the Brewers have just acquired CC Sabathia. The Cubs are really nervous. There is a good chance they will win the division still, but there is also a decent chance that they miss the playoffs completely. Which i'm sure no one here would mind.
  15. what about Brett Lawrie. He's years away... but Prince is 3 years away from being gone if the Brewers stretch it out... like they probably will.
  16. funny thing is, we matchup better prospect wise with Oakland too. We could bring in Harden as well....

  19. corey hart can coach too? Damn, now that guy should be an all-star
  20. as long as AZ is in the race.. why would they trade one of their best hitters for a guy that is hitting .210? They can't their (marginal) fanbase would kill the management.
  21. is there someone blocking Gamel at 3b that I'm not aware of? Seems to me that things will play themselves out between Escobar/Weeks/Hardy. Nothing wrong with Esco being the platoon guy next year similiar to Bill Hall in 03',04',05'
  22. as long as the two extra wins are in October.. That's cool.
  23. why would you trade Bush now? The guy is a stud right now and we really wouldnt get anything much back for him. Plus Salome? Geez. Catchers that hit + .330 with power in pitcher park leagues are hard to find. I dont think you deal him for a reliever and a 89 year old pitcher.
  24. When is Yovanni back? It's going to be a sick rotation this fall.
  25. so you deal him a few years from now... he's in his mid-20's. Play the arby game with him and when it comes time to deal him... deal him. Just like we will do with Prince.
