I believe the distal finger strain means the ring or middle finger obviously. I don't know how you strain it though. He must have banged it somehow.

Distal: The more (or most) distant of two (or more) things. For example, the distal end of the femur (the thigh bone) is the end down by the knee; the end more distant from the torso. The distal bile duct is the far end of the cystic duct, the end away from the gallbladder. And the distal lymph node in a chain of nodes is the most distant one. The opposite of distal is proximal.

 

Edit: BA just said its the knuckle right under the fingernail which makes a lot more sense.

How long can you be out with a "desto" sprain. He most likley will miss some time since its his pitching hand and you need your middle finger the most.

I just may break my TV and then drive to FSN headquarter and break all their necks... this commercial break in the middle of pitches business is spiking my blood pressure to say the least.

That's what I was wondering. It's not on FSN in the Milwaukee area, I just assumed it wouldn't be on for the rest of the state out of the WMLW viewing area.
