6/20/07 Giants (Zito) @ Brewers (Vargas): 1:05 PM CDT

[JoeH33]

Guh, now 3-0 to Molina.

Get it together man!

[rluzinski]

Grand friggin' slam.

[RyDogg66]

Hmmmm. Take VArgas out any time now NED!!!!

[steve267268]

uh oh... Looks like today is the day that it will finally catch up with Vargas. Good thing we built a lead.

[Invader3K]

Booooooooooo.

[PrinceFielder28]

way to leave him in to long Ned

[jaybird2001wi]

Well, Bill Hall's Grand Slam has been erased. Vargas gets the hook.

[jjgott]

Well that's certainly a way for Vargas to not worry about any baserunners...ugh!

[LUKE232323]

That's what you get for walking people Vargas. Good lord what a meltdown.

[PrinceFielder28]

Of course he couldn't let the bullpen rest

[Lil Dummy]

Urge to kill rising....rising...

[raven2479]

Ugh. I like excitement. But not this kind.

[Harold Hutchison]

Vargas can't go six innings. Now we need the bullpen to take over.

[jaybird2001wi]

What's the over/under on a potential blown game by the overworked Brewer bullpen today?

[RU Rah Rah]

Nice hook, Nedly. One batter too late, though.

[TeeJayh1980]

@#%$ Vargas' trade value just dipped

[PrinceFielder28]

now shouse gives up a hit

[Brian the Automator]

Do we know for sure they were warmed up?

[hawing]

way to leave him in to long Ned

In hindsight, obviously. Without hindsight...on one hand, that's quite a jam; but on the other, Vargas has escaped a heck of a lot this season.

On the third hand, that's bound to catch up sometime. But Ned doesn't have three hands to reason that far. Oh well, time to buckle down now.

Didn't Sheets pitch a complete game yesterday?

[TuesdaysWithRillo]

When you have a 6 run lead, you have no business walking guys. Throw some pitches right down the middle and go after the hitters.

[steve267268]

Ouch, now a single. Make it stop please.

[TuesdaysWithRillo]

If we lose this game, I'm starting a "Vargas to the pen" thread.

The guy cruised through the first 5 innings giving up 3 hits and no runs. What else did you want Yost to do? I'm sure nobody was warming up, nor was there a need to, until after the first walk. How much quicker did you want him pulled?

Yes, because they are so taxed after all the work they had lasy night and the daunting off-day tomorrow. If we need 4 innings out of the bullpen, today is as good of day as any. Lets hope they keep up the normally good work and don't have a repeat of that Braves game from a few Wednesdays ago.
