After last year I have no trust in our bullpen. I feel a sense of helplessness today. Although I think we have more "pros" this year. We may be able to re-order our bullpen if Gagne's performance wasn't an aberration.

Yeah, between the Gagne meltdown/Fukodome Deb Ball today it definitely feels like a Cubs' moral victory. Thankfully those don't count.

Anyway, all the Gagne/Fukudome stuff aside, in terms of "moral victory" stuff our ace outpitched theirs, our BP outpitched theirs, and we out-hit them as well. But again, bottom line is the W.

Good point. I like both players, but you can't get too high on Gwynn, or too low on Gagne after just one game.

I'll say this about Gagne. He showed me something after giving up the HR. With no outs and the game tied, he got them to the 10th by getting 4 outs. He made much better pitches once the game was tied.
