Movies for a rained out opening day

Time for a Miller

So I was watching a League of There Own tonight when my brother called me. We're planning on an all day cookout type of deal and watching the Brewers play the Cubs to celebrate the start of the season. So he told me I should have saved that movie to watch in case the game gets rained out. Which leads me to my question. What movie would you watch if your having over people to watch a game and it gets rained out.

Major League: Always excellent, but a little crude for younger audiences

Some other movie completely unrelated to baseball or maybe not even related to sports at all?

The movie I'd choose is the Sandlot. It has that whole Princess Bride type of thing going on where it is universally appealing. So if the game is rained out Monday we'll be watching that.

Wait, is there a fear it might be rained out?

I took work off Monday...

Edit: Oh, puke. I just took a look at the Monday forecast for Wrigley's zip code and I see a 90% chance of rain. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

Anyway, I'll be taking in the Yankees-Blue Jays if it happens.

Yankees-Blue Jays? I took off work too, but I'm actually pretty excited anyways even if it does get rained out. The Sandlot is a perfect happy pick- me-up type of movie to watch if we end up missing the game.

If the game is rained out my preference in order would be

1. Major League

2. sticking hot pokers into my eyes while chewing glass

3. Watching the Yankees-Blue Jays game

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Usually, we would watch Major League in the morning before the first away game.

Otherwise, ESPN for whatever game is on.

"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

Isnt ESPN showing games all day? I havent had cable for years (I finally do now) but I thought they showed a 12:00 game, a 3:00 game a 6:05 and a 9:05 on opening day. Id just watch those games straight through if I took the day off. It isnt the Brewers, but it is real baseball...finally.

Guess I'll figure out if I'm driving to work in Watertown or working from home in the morning. Doesn't look to good with the most recent forecast.

Well, the forecast looks like it has improved a little bit. I looked 3 or 4 hours ago at the "hour by hour" forecast on weather.com and it showed 90% chance of rain around game time. Now it shows 60% chance. There's hope!

Bull Durham is fun....For The Love of the Game. I just DVR'd some baseball movies from WGN's marathon that I haven't seen yet, so I'm excited to check those out.
