Do the Brewers have any starters in the minors ready to help soon?

just throwing this one out there (ouch, that hurt my arm)--do the brewers have any starters in the minors ready to help out at the mlb level sometime this year?

When Melvin signed Weaver, he mentioned that the team likes Jackson and Narveson. Neither one look special to me. I'm guessing that's one of the reasons that Weaver was signed.

I wouldn't terribly mind seeing Jackson, other than the fact that it would mean too many guys are injured. That windup is the anti-aesthetic though.

Agreed. Those are the three most likely candidates if we need to call up a pitcher.

What's the latest on Capuano? The last we heard was a 3 week rehab that could avoid surgery if it worked. It's been close to 3 weeks, I wonder how his progress is coming...

Well, I guess technically Yo Gallardo is a minor league starter until tomorrow... I hear he's pretty good.

 

Seriously, I think this lack of AAA depth is a major reason the odd man out among Bush, Villy and Parra needs to stay stretched out. There's a distinct possibility that Villy or Parra gets sent to AAA just so he can be ready if/when a starter is needed. I'd hate to rely on Weaver unless he's really tearing up AAA.

Escobar is definitely MLB ready and would probably be better than Hardy right now at SS the way he is hitting right now. Escobar is definitely better defensively and if Hardy is not hitting for power that makes him better offensively as well.
