How can Jorge Cantu even see with his helmet pulled across his eyes like that? No wonder his career OBP is .316. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Exactly so Yost probably figured give him a good pitch to hit and maybe get a single or a double.. problem with bunting in general there is best case you get Kendall up with a guy on 2nd and 2 out and the OF playing in with Kendall so a hit probably doesn't score anyways..

If the pitcher can get a guy to second, you get the guy to second. Yo's a decent hitter, but not good enough to get into mind games.

Again.. since he is such a good hitter he most likely can get the bunt down with 1 strike which by the way he did so based on results it wasn't a bad decision and if you looked at the scenarious it probably wouldn't make much difference either way but was probably slightly on the side of a good idea..

But you're getting a fastball on the first pitch, so why waste it?

It needs to be like in the final game in "Major League" where time is wasting away, the crowd is yawning, then Willie Mays Hayes gets on to start the rally.

Not as thrilling, but I'll take Rickie on base any day.

Will Nieves just hit a 2-run walk-off HR for the Nats against the Cubs. That's a game the Cubs probably should've won, but they were hitting with Brewers-like efficiency tonight.

Ok.. we can go all night with you making my argument for me.. yes why waste a fastball by bunting it when if Yo gets a hit you have 2 chances to get the runner in.. especially knowing that even if Yo misses he is good enough to get a bunt down and also knowing that a sac still requires 2 hits to get Hall in..

Sweetness! Now we just need to capitalize.

Normally I'm not a big bunting guy, but a 0-0 game in the bottom of the 8th with nobody out is a pretty good time to do it.

Amen to that.
