I'm not too excited about this pending Aquino-Cabrera matchup. I'd say the chances for Cabrera getting on base is about 90%.

EDIT: I eat my words, Aquino did a nice job that inning.

While I agree that Gwynn might be better defensively I think Hall is a much better hitter. I kind of see him as better version of Podsednik. PO made some great plays and made some bad plays, just like hall so far.

I'd say Gwynn is similar to Podsednik. Neither one can hit a lick, but Gwynn can play a decent CF. Podsednik is pretty much a horrible defender anywhere you stick him on the field.

Hall is more like a guy who hits like Andruw Jones and fields like Emil Brown right now in CF.

I'm late to the thread- in honor of all those who love "Small Sample Stats" I'd like to point out that Geoff Jenkins is on pace for a 68 home run season....

Well, a @#%$ looks inevitable once again in Florida. I know there are 2 games left in the series, but we always save our worst games for Florida for some reason.

I'm so frustrated right now. 9 left on? I don't know if I can handle this. I know it's early and all that but this has been the achilles heel of this team for years. If I see one more popout, my head may explode.

You lose all the opps. early and you pay the price late.

Billy Hall is most responsible for this one, but any two out hits wRISP would be huge. Again, I am feeling like the last five years when someone is in scoring position and that is not good.

We blamed Wynegar last year. Let's stick it to the players now. By the way, how is that two strike hitting helping us now?

I'm watching the Marlins feed, and Julio is not pitching because he has pitched 2 straight days. I believe some dude named Lee Gardner is going to close for them.

No one else upset that Shouse has been left in to face two right-handers and a switch hitter after doing his job againt the lefty he faced to open the inning?

Brian Shouse cannot pitch more than 2 batters at a time. Looks like Ned still hasn't figured this out. Shousey's really struggling now.

Edit: Anyone else take a deep breath when they saw that the ball was hit to center? This is like Weeks' rookie year all over again.

Relax - we still get to face Jorge Julio.

Henry Owens instead.

I guess they're going with.. Henry Owen? I don't think I've heard of a pitcher in their bullpen. Yet, they're still owning us.
