dave bush has *authenticated balls*

Posted

A comment from Yost regarding the plausibility of Bush's no-no, as quoted in espn.com's article about today's game:

"You start thinking, 'Geez, maybe,' " Yost said. "They've got a guy sitting behind the ball boy that authenticates every game ball that comes out. I think, 'Why are they doing that?' About the eighth inning, I started to figure out why. If this happens, you've got authenticated balls."

Now, I'd like to think that i'm no more juvenile than your average bf.netter, but that's just plain funny. I find it to be especially funny when you take into consideration what so many of us make of Yost's figurative cojones as a manager.

I can't believe they have a guy at every game for that.

No kidding, but at the same time how do you get that job?

Some balls are held for charity, and some for fancy dress. But when they're held for no-no's, they're the balls that I like best.

Sometimes you really can't take balls at face value. You can't always trust your balls.

I disagree. You always trust your balls.
