Well, at least we won't have to bring up the possibility of Gwynn Jr. getting traded for Maddux whenever trade talk comes up.

 

He's fairly average now, but could help with Penny on the DL

Greg fits right into the #5 spot, which LA had Johnson in. Fine move by the Dodgers, with Manny and Maddux, one could say they got the best bat and best arm available at the time.

Sounds like a nice pickup for the Dodgers. Maddux supposedly would only accept a trade to a West Coast team, so this makes sense.

7 games is a lot to make up in a little less than 1.5 months. It's certainly possible, but it would take a good stretch by one of the teams coupled with the Brewers and Cardinals fading away.

You have to give it to the Dodgers though...at least the guys they have traded for have been producing. This isn't like last year's Giants team that was loaded with old over the hill players and one virtual home run derby participant.
