5/26/06 Other Games Thread

I felt like Carlos Zambrano's pitching line through 6 innings was worth starting an other games thread for.

6 IP, 0 H, 1 ER, 6 BB, 7 K

105 pitches

Scrubs lead the game 2-1 in the bottom of the 6th.

Looks like he's trying to lose a game in which he pitches a no hitter. Thats one of the craziest lines I've ever seen.

117 pitches....good play by Ramirez....does Dusty keep him in for 130...140...150...160...or even more

This will be fascinating if the no-no stays intact.

I'm really interested to see how this Zombrano situation works out. As I type this he's thrown 115 pitches through 6 2/3's innings. I wonder if Dusty will allow him to finish this game out even if he needs 140+ pitches.

No drama today I guess. Wilson Betemit just hit a two out double to break up what could have been one of the ugliest no-no ever.

Just thought I'd remind you guys that if you get a chance, check out the Twins and Mariners game tonight. Felix Hernandez is going up against Francisco Liriano.

Once again, the Braves ended up on the wrong end of what was almost a great pitching performance.

Sheets' 18 strikeouts, Randy Johnson's perfect game, Peavey's 16 strikeouts, and now this. Eerie.

Well, they just picked up a run and now have their very own PH-extraordinaire at the plate with a 3-1...

Edit: and he strikes out.

It's been a great pitching performance in one aspect (hits), but don't forget, dude gave up six walks, including four in the first to give up a run.

Andruw Jones rounded third as the Cubs were slow to get the ball back in (they had no chance to get the first runner). The throw home was hurried, as they stalled to get it in to begin with, it sailed away, and he scored.

Edit: Neifi Perez booted the throw in, and then sailed the throw.

I am sorry, but I still can't stop laughing at how the Cubs lost. I literally have tears in my eyes.

EDIT: For those of you who missed it, Andruw Jones hit a sac fly to rightfield with the bases loaded to tie the game. The 2nd baseman Neifi Perez dropped the throw to the cutoff man and then threw the ball away trying to get a runner out at home.

CUBS LOSE !!!!!

Looks like Kansas City will end there 13 game losing streak against no other than the Yankees. They lead 7-4 despite committing 2 errors.

The Royals/Yankees game is now 7-5 in the 9th and in a rain delay. Wouldn't it just make sense if the Yankees come back and win now, nothing can go the Royals way, not even the weather.
