i just got a text from my friend Jesse Rogers on 670 AM The Score in Chicago telling me that Yost has been fired and it's official.

 

trying to get more out of him...

Jesse said to tune into the Score so I am doing so now. he is at Miller Park for the cubs game now, so I'm thinking it's pretty solid.

MLB.com reported it, too. Yost dismissed, Sveum interim manager.

 

Mixed minds on this one. I don't see any available talent out there that rates as an improvement over Yost. I just don't.

I really don't see a downside to this move. You can't do much worse than 3-11 in September with the playoffs on the line. Either it sparks the team or it doesn't. If it does, great. If it doesn't, Yost was a dead man walking anyway.

I can't believe it. Never thought this would happen with just 12 games left in the season. Again, I think this creates problems though, what if they make the playoffs, and do well. Does Sveum become the next manager? I think we are really in uncharted territory here. I wonder if there is some behind the scenes stuff that happened over the weekend to really made this move happen. Or is it just Attanasio has an itchy trigger finger? I mean, Yost did have a terrible weekend managing the team (probably his worst all season) but I am not sure this gets the Brewers over the top. I am glad Ned isn't managing anymore, but I find it funny that Simmons wasn't named the Manager but rather an "advisor". It is like they both are guilty of something......outside of the 3-11 record here in September. Ned does have a record of 2nd half collapses.....

Wow, bad move. At least wait to fire the guy until after the season so you can make a change instead of putting in a guy who worked with Yost.
