Seems like the article is more about vitamin deficiency than vegetarianism. Veggie-type people usually supplement their diets to include plenty of the vitamins they need.

True, as long vegetarians are getting enough 'yeast extract' in their daily diet they have no worries.

Eating meat kills you or makes you crazy.

Now quite obviously, hopefully, you realize that I am simply trying to make a point. The initial poster made a point of trying to stir up controversy so I am doing the same.

As a vegitarian I take a daily multivitamin with b12, shocking. Not only that but I only by cereal that is fortified with b12. Most vegitarians I know do take a vitamin supplement. Yes a poor unbalanced diet can have negative health effects, the same is true whether it is a vegan diet or a meat eaters diet. I also would argue that the percentage of vegitarians that eat a healthy well balanced diet is significantly higher than the percentage of meat eaters eating a healthy well balanced diet.

This isn't an argument that I really want to get into here but I quite honestly couldn't just leave this thread without posting. Thanks, lets let this thread die now.

My original post was in jest.

Good to know, but hard to tell from the original post; and we've had too many threads regarding meat vs. no-meat deteriorate into arguments and lockitude. Indeed, I'll lock this thread now.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
