I almost wish Dana had gotten knocked around a little bit in the 2nd, bad enough that Yost would have wanted to PH hit out of the game right there.

And who are we gonna have pitch? Demaria? Lehr? Our "long" relievers are a joke.

Let's face it, as long as we have Eveland and Hendrickson in our rotation we're never going to win more than 3 games in a row. And god help us if we lose when Cappy, Bush, or Davis are on the mound since we've got no one to pick us up from the 4th or 5th spots.

I'll give Yost his due when he makes a good call, but I'm not going to shower him with kudos for making an obvious call.

But you'll rip him on a 50/50 call?

Sheesh...so far we are giving Philly fans no reason not to continue drooling over their new rookie starter.

He's young and left-handed. This is basically par for the course so far.

He is already in the mid 70s in the pitch count, and if we are lucky he will only be in the 80s after this inning.

First of all, I didn't rip on yesterday's call. But I really don't think that was anywhere near a 50/50 call.

Adambr,

Should have re-phrased that to say "but some will rip him on a 50/50 call". Didn't mean to call you out.

Well, at least Eveland has quieted the Phillies down since the first. Might get one more inning out of him. Now if only we could start swinging the bats...

Look, it's Chase Utley...

walking back to the dugout after striking out on Eveland's junk.

At least Eveland has settled a little bit. That, or he's getting pretty good smoke and mirrors action.

No problem. I still disagree that it was a 50/50 call, but that's nothing more than my opinion.

I predict that we will get someone on this inning, and that Eveland will trot out for the 5th but implode. Double Switch for Lehr and we will see a Corey Hart sighting in center field.

Abreu got to third on a fly-out, then Eveland gets Howard with the K.

If he can get Bell here, I'll be impressed. Nullifying a lead-off walk/SB isn't easy.

Posted
You have to believe this is it for Eveland, too many walks and hits, and he is going to be over a 100 pitches with his spot coming up 3rd

Lead off walk scores...

Eveland is already over 100 pitches, so this should be it for him. He is due up 3rd.

Edit: Sorry, repeated what Tisko had already posted.

That's how a lefty should pitch to a lefty.. are you watch Shouse?

Over the last three seasons, lefties have hit .198 with a .247 OBP and a .311 SLG against Shouse. I think he knows what he's doing.

If Dana struggles what options does the crew have until Heling gets back

Is Sarfate out of options after this year (he is, IIRC). If so, what would it hurt to see what he has at this level?
