The Brewers tonight host the Diamondbacks for a three game series at Miller Park. After a great spring Dave Bush is making his debut for the Brewers. He will be facing Russ Ortiz of the Diamondbacks, who struggled last year only posting a 6.89 ERA.

Yeah it looks that way for tonight. I know that I'm going with a bunch of people to tommorow's game. Can't wait to see DD dominate and the Brewers knock around Webb.

Very excited tonight to watch the game and see Bush make his Brewers debut. If we win tonight it would be the first time since 1987 the Crew have started a season 4-0. That of course is the year we started 13-0 and Rob Deer made the cover of SI. Hopefully we get a good performance from Bush and Prince really breaks free this series. With JJ, Carlos, and Geoff all seeing the ball pretty well so far this season.

I'm looking forward to "threading it up" with you all tonight. Should be a game we can win, especially if Bush continues his hot start from Spring Training. Only 87 more wins to 90, the Crew has the talent to do it.

I said this last night in the chat room, but if the Brewers can keep the same approach they had in the Pittsburgh series against Ortiz, this is going to be a long game. The guy is a walks machine, somwhere around 5 BB/9 in the past two seasons, and 4.62 over his career. I say the Brewers draw somewhere around six or seven walks tonight and get into the "soft underbelly" of the D'Backs pen.

I think the only game that may be really tough is Saturday's game, you have to hope they have a home plate umpire that doesn't call the low strike for Webb. If he does, they could spend the whole day pounding the ball into the ground.

I remember when Russ Ortiz was good.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Is Turnbow available tonight?

Good question after pitching in the first 3 games I wonder, although there was an off day yesterday. I have no clue what Yost would do if we have a save situation tonight. If he does not use Turnbow, does he use Wise? or Kolb?

I was actually thinking he kind of looked like Stiffler>

I don't know if this was posted yet somewhere else, but I found this blurb from a Tim Kurkijan column that came out last Saturday:

Quote:
Best batting practice session of the spring: Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks. "The way he hits the ball is a joke," said Brewers catcher Damian Miller. Brewers third baseman Jeff Cirillo laughed and said "I took BP in a group with Rickie, J.J. (Hardy), Prince (Fielder) and Bill Hall and I felt like Steve Fisher with the Fab Five at Michigan."

Dang, it feels good to be a Crew fan.

Is it just me, or does Bush have a giraffe neck?

Maybe...

But nothing like this guy....

The Brewers are going to win by 6.... No closer will be needed.

I hope you are right Brian, winning by 6 is like a blowout. I hope your prediction rings true tonight. And I agree with the guy that said Bush kind of looks like Stiffler.

Just a thought, but if you're Ned Yost, do you think really hard about starting Chad Moeller tonight? That way you're sure to get Damian Miller aka Jake Taylor against a tougher pitcher tomorrow. If Miller starts tonight, it's very possible that Chad will start tomorrow being a day game. If we have to see Chad this weekend, I think tonight should be the night.

I agree I would rather have Moeller start tonight against Ortiz then against Webb tommarow. I would think that Miller would get the start tonight because of the off-day yesterday. We will see what Ned has planned tonight.
