TGJ - out of options?

Who cares about his 60 time. He can cover ground and make plays. He also does have SPEED! 2004-2006 in the minors he had 30+ stolen bases. He has also had 3 seasons in the minors with 20+ stolen bases. Keep him!

If we're keeping a guy based just on speed might as well keep Mel Stocker, who would be a better pitch runner.

He doesn't have great speed, he has huge holes in swing evident by his large K totals, he has no power, and his defensive is only good. I'd take Irribarren over him easily since Irribarren can play 2B, is 2 years younger (Gwynn is 26!) and has shown a modicum of power.

I've also mentioned how I like Iribarren over Gwynn, but I'd like to know how Iribarren's defense rates in both CF and 2B. Does anyone have defensive ratings for him?

The numbers from that MLE calculator don't really mean anything. I doubt its anything other than the difference of a minors average versus a majors average. Gwynn could hit .100 or bump up his average by 30 or 40 points. I've heard his defense is excellent as well.

Well, it's not looking too good for him is it? Duffy has been playing well and he still hasn't seen any action in the outfield.

I am happy to see that nobody claimed TG2. Luckily he fell through the cracks and we are able to hold onto his services until further notice.

I say this stinks if it in any way impedes the progress of Lo Cain who hopefully gets a mid season bump to AAA

they just exposed tgj to waivers, I don't think they would allow him to block a very good prospect from his natural progression. At least I hope not.
