Peanut Butter tips?

Hi everybody-

I don't really enjoy peanut butter that much so I haven't been totally keeping up with the decimation of the peanut industry. My wife likes it a lot though and we ran out of our supply today. Does anybody have any recommendations of a brand that hasn't been tainted by all the recalls? I try not to buy into the hysteria over stuff like this but peanut products seem to get recalled every few days lately so I want to make a good choice. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I thought I had heard that peanut butter from the jars is safe. I'm not all that crazy about peanut butter myself, so I don't have any special recommendations, although after looking it up it appears that Jif and Peter Pan were advertising recently that their brand is safe:

MSN Jar Peanut Butter

It seems as though just the industrial peanut paste used in various products has been the subject of the salmonella outbreaks.

I personally like Organic Peanut Butter for the taste more than anything. There is no sugar in it so it actually tastes like peanuts. I get generic Roundy's Organic Peanut Butter.

I originally thought this was going to be "The Bacon Thread--Part II" but I'm glad I was wrong.

I'm not much into peanut butter anymore. At school, we were told it was just the peanut butter that was in prepackaged peanut butter cracker sandwiches. I guess not?

Maybe it is, I haven't been following it too closely. I just have vague recollections of a bunch of peanut butter recalls lately.
