  1. I noticed on the Brave's broadcast that Gomez was sort of grabbing at his upper thigh/butt area. Not saying that's why he was removed early though.
  2. Really Macha? Cause from what I have seen Kottaras kind of sucks at blocking balls.Well, doesn't look like that held up for long, unless the lineup changes before the game. Right now Lucroy is in there with Parra.
  3. The Brevard boxscore lists Salome as the DH for tonight. After Coach's comments that it might not be a bad idea for him to try the outfield, I'm kind of curious where he's been playing in practices.
  4. Looks like Heether was waived and claimed by the Athletics. Good luck to him. http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/06/parra_to_start_in_bushs_place.html
  5. "Doug Davis has a heart condition and was placed on the 15-day DL. Painful, but treatable, doctor says." From McCalvy's twitter http://twitter.com/AdamMcCalvy/statuses/14119231312
  6. Looks like Fiers has struck out every batter in the lineup at least once. That's impressive.
  7. Looking at the error totals thus far for the regulars, I'm quite impressed. I'm sure they'll come in bunches like usual, but McGehee is the only regular with an error so far. I would have thought that in spring training they would be higher.
  8. Not sure if these stats are correct, since they seem to coincide with your figures, but espn has these:2002: 5.18 era (24.1 innings) 2003: 3.05 era (20.2 innings) 2004: 7.86 era (18.1 innings) 2005: 8.10 era (6.2 innings) 2006: 27.04 era (2.1 innings) 2007: 6.08 era (13.1 innings) 2008: 6.55 era (11.0 innings) I know this could be put in one of the other pitching threads, but I had remembered Narveson had a good spring his first year with the Brewers, yet didn't realize it was this good (if stats are indeed correct): 2008: 0.57 era (15.2 innings)
  9. Try going to the gameday link and clicking the WTMJ link in the top right above the Giants banner.
  10. I just saw BJ Upton's cycle and noticed his leg kick/twist is similar to Bryce's: Upton: http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=6970183 Harper: http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/4864/brycefront.gif
  11. Michael Brantley was called up for the Indians. He also got his first hit (single) in his second at-bat. edit to add link: Michael Brantley called up

  13. Only partially related to this thread, but I just tried putting on the Padres game (I'm in Michigan) and it came up with two options: "Out-of-market package" and "In-market package". For those who have Cox high speed internet within the Padres home television territory, they'll let them watch the channel 4-San Diego broadcast for 49.95 yearly. Is this a step towards no/less blackout restrictions? I hope so.
  14. To be honest, I just don't feel as though this is the Brewers year. They seem to have a lot going against them right now for the second half. Yes, they are still in the race at this point, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them fall off a bit, especially looking at the following: 1) Can we expect Gallardo to stay in strong in the second half, especially considering the few innings he pitched last year? Seeing his production lessen would be a large impact in itself. Probably my largest concern. 2) Dave Bush is a question mark right now. 3) Braun's wrist - it may just be a bruise, but losing him for any period would hurt. 4) McGehee/Counsell's knees. I think it's fair to say that McGehee will likely fall of to a certain extent. Then again, you could probably argue that Hardy will play better in the second half, and Parra can't really do much worse than he was before coming back. I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun to see Halladay in a Brewer uniform, but I am seeing more of a falloff in other areas of the team even if we do get him.
  15. I didn't feel this warranted a new thread, but I came across this update, which was actually available on July 3rd: Source: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=4571
  16. I'm pretty sure this is one of those situations where fans of other teams are happy to see Braun speaking out like this. To me, it's sort of like when Brewer fans are glad to see Bradley and Piniella argue with each other, but the Cubs fans are split in half - those that think the argument will spark a fire under Bradley, and those that think it'll just get in Bradley's, the other players, and the coaches heads even more.
  17. Supposedly they've fixed it with their newer "jasper" systems. edit: Just wanted to note that I'm not sure if they'd give a jasper system if you do send it in for repair.
  18. Agreed. Lets just say that I would have been holding my breath if that was Gamel in there instead. Wow... I haven't been watching the brewers as much lately, but boy - they sure do know how to get me boiling. Hardy goes deep as I'm submitting my post.
  19. I know this may not be quite on the same lines as Michael Jackson, but Billy Mays was somewhat a household name. No foul play was suspected. Link to the developing story.
  20. Looks like Bradley may have had another incident today: Bradley and Pinella Exchange Words He was pulled from the game after a 6th inning at-bat and exchanging words with Pinella. I didn't personally see it, so I can't say how heated it got.
  21. I saw that as well, but Iribarren ended up pinch hitting in the 9th.
  22. I wouldn't pay Microsoft to fix it. There are quite a few repair shops out there that will fix it for $30-$40 including shipping. Also, if you're handy with repairing electronics, there are quite a few tutorials out there on how to fix the RROD, such as the x-clamp fix. If you go this route, I would avoid the "towel trick" as that has a chance to screw up the xbox even more. If you decide that you'd like a new xbox 360, you should still be able to sell your RROD xbox 360 for more than $50 on ebay. It might be worth it to check craigslist for local repairers to save on costs. There's also a new "jasper" chip in the new xbox's which is supposed to prevent the xbox 360 from overheating.
  23. I know this is nitpicking, but he actually had 3 HR by April 12th of last year. Granted, this season started a week later. Also, in 2007 he had 4 homers by April 16th. Pretty useless stats though.
