Would anyone take a flier on this guy? He's been around the block twice, and personally I would probably pass, but just curious the mood of the board on him?

He used to be intimidating, but he's clearly lost it if he was just released. The Brewers wouldn't have any use for him, either.

Yeah, our bullpen is really pretty good right now. Maybe top five in the majors. I see no reason to bring in Mesa. I do think if we trade someone like Mench, that we could add a reliever that might be of help to our bullpen. But other than that, I have no problem being status quo with our bullpen at this point (other than Gallardo and however he'd fit into the pitching staff).

The bullpen hasn't been all that great outside of Cordero and Villanueva (Turnbow and Wise have had their moments), but I think that Mesa was washed up 5 years ago. I hope the Brewers don't have any interest.
