Impressive the way he came back from those five straight balls to Sanchez and McLouth to get the heart of their order there....I'd sniffed disaster all over that inning when McLouth came to bat.

Prince needs to stretch on that play.
Agree, but even though the ball was blurry on the replay, I eventually saw proof that it was in the glove before the runner reached base.

I'd venture to guess nobody has been screwed by the umpires more than the Crew this season. Our games have been prime examples of why instant replay needs to be more prevalent in MLB.

is it just me, or is this Jaramillo guy slowly becoming a Brewer killer? (not that he affects the outcome of the game, but...) Kinda reminds me of Yadier Molina.

He knows all his family at home is watching. And he's probably motivated by being bypassed by his hometown team. How dare we take Gallardo over him. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I doubt you can tell when the ball actually made contact with the glove from the replay, which is why replay would not necessarily be of any help on that play.

You could easily tell on the replay they showed.

The umpire can hear the sound of the ball hitting the glove. Replay is missing that feature.
You forgot that human error is also part of baseball tradition and it shant not be sullied.

It didn't appear to be profanity, but Fielder could easily hear them as there are only 50 or so people at the ballpark. After rewinding it, it sounds like they were chanting "Cecil"

Actually I'd be in favor of using questec (or whatever it is called now) for calling balls and strikes, so no, that would not be my opinion.

A couple years ago at Dodger Stadium there were a couple drunks all over Prince (calling him fat boy)...there was no one left in the stands and I'm sure he could hear everything. He almost hit it out of the stadium. Just awesome.
