Clark For Mackowiak is almost too logical. The Sox aquired Mackowiak to give them depth at 3rd when Crede was still fighting back problems. Since then, Crede conquered his back problems, Josh Fields has become MLB ready 3B, and the ulta-versatile Pablo Ozuna developed into a legitimate hitter.

In light of today's trade with KC for another minor league cathcher, coupled with Toby Hall's injury and the fact that the Sox have absolutely no use for Mackowiak wouldn't a Rivera for Mackowiak deal make some sense? Might have to be evened out some how, but Mackowiak could provide back-up at 3B, 1B and outfield.

If the ChiSox wanted Rivera for their 25-man roster, they could have just claimed him, though.
