2009-06-13 White Sox (Contreras) at Brewers (Parra): 3:05 PM CT [Brewers lose, 7-1]

Today the Crew looks to ensure a series win over the ChiSox, and they'll be playing in front of a national audience (well, at least those not being subjected to Mets/Yankees) on FOX. It'll be Manny Parra (3-7, 6.86 ERA) going up against Jose Contreras (1-5, 6.45 ERA). Both pitchers have struggled to this point, and look to rebound with strong starts. I just HATE HATE HATE Saturday afternoon games like this. Brewers-White Sox will never be picked as the national game out here (or much of anywhere else), especially if the Yankees are involved as another choice.

It stinks that we have to listen to the "Chicago Shill" Dick Stockton. You could always hear his bias during Bear games. Hopefully we can keep his excitement to a minimum today.

I get the feeling Contreras' inconsistent deliveries are going to give the Brewers fits this afternoon. Hardy looked really confused once he dropped down to a sidearm slot.

Unfortunately, you'll have that problem next week, too. I don't know why they chose the CHW/MIL game for FOX, especially when the STL/CLE game will be shown to much of the midwest.
