Maybe some of you should just let Macha do the managing and let him worry about if Yo has too many pitches or not. That is what he get paid to do.

Ugh, why was Macha bunting there anyways? Freakin' stupid. Another wasted opportunity.

Sad that Yo is set up for the loss.

looks to be a great day for the offense to fall asleep, right before a 4 game road series that could either bury or give the listless Cubs some life. Not entirely on him, but Corey Hart has been today's rally killer.

It'd be a big wasted start by Yo, since he won't be pitching in any of the Cubs games.

Anybody have a statistic on how many runs we've scored in day games this year? I imagine it can't be too many.
According to baseball-reference.....

runs/day games - 79/24 = 3.29 runs/game

runs/night games - 289/53 = 5.45 runs/game

Just looking through the game thread titles in the past month:

6/28: 0

6/25: 4

6/21: 2

6/20: 5

6/14: 4

6/13: 1

6/11: 3

6/7: 7

I don't know how much of today's struggles are due to it being a day game, though. The roof is closed and there aren't any shadows on the field due to the overcast skies. Brian and Bill mentioned that it looked like a night game because it's so dark. Today probably had more to do with Pelfrey just having a good day and forcing a lot of ground balls.

It's on both Prince and Hart imo. Prince was too far off even if Hart pulled it back then he hesitated going to third and how can Hart miss on two straight fastballs to bunt. ABC baseball at it's worst!

Roof was closed today and no sun-- what will be the "excuse" today for not scoring runs?
The pitcher pitched well? Why do the mets only have 1 run?

It's amazing that a bloop double that goes about 130 feet and a ground ball single that finds a hole could mean a loss for Yo.

Kendall, Gerut, Catalanottp

May as well never came up to bat.

Gerut needs to be DFA'd. He sucks so much. Just bite the bullet.

Well, I gave him a pretty long leash, but I'm officially disappointed in Jody Gerut. Seems all he's been good for is helping Prince celebrate his accomplishments.

I don't see any reason why Catalanatto can't outproduce Hart or match his production the rest of the year if we can deal Corey for pitching. I am starting to see Kapler in Cat, and Kapler was better than Corey the second 2/3 of last season.

It'd be nice to at least tie it up here, but even if they don't, K-Rod is far from unbeatable. It always seems like he lets a lot of runners on base, even if he eventually closes the door.
