Adam Dunn next offseason?

He signed a 2 yr. 20 million dollar deal with the Nats prior to the season. Any chance we could open up an OF position (Hart) for Dunn?

I was thinking this offseason and I agree that we would need a very good centerfieder to help mask a small portion of Dunn's shortcomings.

Adam Dunn is one of the rare guys that is even more atrocious defensively at 1st base than he is in left. He would be an extremely poor replacement for Fielder.

I would absolutely love to see some numbers to know how that can possibly be true.

UZR/150 has him as -14 as a 1B and -11.8 as a LF. Just under a year worth of innings at 1B for his career though. Pretty consistently bad, but not 100% conclusive. Probably good enough to make a good guess that he will be a bad 1B. Fielder is a -8.8 for his career.

I think he'd be slightly worse than Prince defensively, but I would still love to pick him up if we trade Prince. Braun-Dunn-Gamel would be a nice 3-4-5.
