It doesn't help that Braun simply refuses to make adjustments at the plate. He's still flailing at the same outside stuff in every at-bat and opposing pitchers know they don't have to throw him strikes to get him out.

Weird scoring play there...thankfully the Cubs are horrible.

Hey, nice heads up base running by the big man, and a lucky drop at home for a run.

Rundown 1st and 2nd, Weeks heads home, run down there and Tracy bounces the throw and Rickie spears Soto.

How big was the Weeks/Soto collision?
Not that big because Soto dropped the ball bracing for the collision and then ended up backing off a little bit right before the collision. You could tell that Rickie would have blown him up though if it would have been a full-fledged play-at-the-plate. As it was he still knocked off Soto's mask and initiated pretty good contact.

That must be so he can retire a Cardinal. They can't be serious.
Or they believe Dave Duncan can fix him. A friend of mine who is a Cardinals fan mused on this very possibility as soon as Jeff was released.

That would seem to me to be some kind of ultimate "pitching coach" test, but I guess we'll find out how much of a savior Duncan is.

was that Castro fly ball really at the warning track?? (according to Gameday)

Yes. Braun was right by the wall.

Yeah, and it looked like an upper deck shot off the bat. I thought for sure it was gone. He centered on it with a big uppercut.

Watching "the doorman" jaw with big z. I think zambrano just invited him into the dugout to settle their beef.
Sweet. We'll have to check the Doorman's blog in the next few days to see his take.

Somebody notify Mr. Castro that it was his crappy throw that caused the error, as he shoots dirty looks to the first baseman. That guy looks like a major tool, and now he has 8 errors in a month.

Glad he is a Cub

These Blue Angel flyovers are ridiculous. And of course, most of them seem to be happening when the Brewers are up to bat. I don't think I remember a flyover happening with a Cub at the plate (not that it's a big deal, just a bit frustrating that Brewer hitters are visibly upset about it).

I am happy they tied the game, but I am still waiting for that big extra base hit that clears the bases and breaks the game open. It's been a very long time since I have seen one of those.
