Anyone else hungry for cheese sandwiches tonight?

Nice double play there.
Old school! I remember that night. Sheets was amazing. And yes, I am hungry for cheese sandwiches.
Here's a couple of ways to take that particular trip down memory lane...

Retrosheet box score

IGT from 6/8/2004 (though it lacks the cheese sandwich images, unfortunately)

Angels seem to position their defense like the Twins. It seems like a lot of balls are hit to players in positions I wouldn't expect.

Despite his early troubles, Wolf has been pretty effective tonight. Only at 88 through 6.

I suspect I'm one of the more hopeful fans around Brewerfan, but if someone had told me it would be 9-2 in the 7th, I might not have guessed correctly which team had which score. Keep it up, Brewers.

Injury delay?
Casey had a hard slide into 2nd to break up the double play and slide into Aybar's leg, which hyperextended. Aybar needed to be helped off the field.

anyone think Casey's slide was a little late? The first pitch at Counsell looked intentional. I am wondering if the Angels are a little upset? Of course Bell hit Casey.

Will wolf come out for the 8th?

Villanueva is warming, so I don't think so. They'll probably just let Villa pitch the last two innings with the score the way it is. Feels good to be on the other side of one of these for a change.

I didn't think the slide was that bad - guys almost ALWAYS slide into 2nd like that, Aybar just didn't get out of the way in time.

The bad throw to second was the main culprit for the injury, in my opinion. A good throw lets Aybar leap over McGehee completely or at least do a better job of avoiding the slide.

Yeah, I don't know why Aybar tried to keep his foot on the bag so long. A proper "neighborhood" tag may have kept him out of harm's way. Not his fault, though. Just happened.
