Arena Football is back (Bonecrushers)

Just saw this posted, and haven't seen it anywhere else here....

Plays during the spring summer months though it appears.

I was really hoping this would be an Arena Football League team..but oh well, I suppose we'll have to take what we can get. It's kind of like saying 'basketball is back!' but instead of an NBA team we get an ABA or CBA team.

 

I never got a chance to attend a Mustangs game, but are the rules for the CIFL any different from the AFL?

It's kind of like the minor league AFL. I knew a guy that went to a Chicago Slaughter game and he said it was kind of mediocre.

Surprised they didn't get at least an AFL2 team, which is (I assume) at least affiliated with the AFL. Oh well I guess.

Football at the US Cellular Arena sounds kind of weird. Is that where the Mustangs played?

No, they played at the Bradley Center. I remember because the BC management didn't even bother to tell the Mustangs that they had scheduled renovations during the Mustangs season, which led the Mustangs to fold because they had no place to play. That tells you how much the BC valued the tenancy of even a very successful Arena League team.

This new team makes me wonder if the Racine Raiderswill be able to beat this new team.

The Bonecrushers? They should at least think of something more original, like the Milwaukee Cream Citys?

I used to work out with some of the Racine Raiders. Some of those guys were as cut as NFL players. A little intimidating when you are trying to bench and guys next to you are doing 300 no problem.

I attended a Green Bay Blizzard game last year (couple friends have season tickets), and I can say that if Milwaukee manages to get even a fraction of the fun Blizzard games are, it's gonna be a great night out for Milwaukeeans.

 

May actually have been the most fun I've ever had at a "professional" sporting event. Just awesome.

Like I said before, the Milwaukee Bonecrushers name is about as generic as "frooty treats" cereal. Give the nickname some Milwaukee taste, like the Milwaukee Suds, Milwaukee Cream Citys, Milwaukee Industrialists, etc.

Okay, yeah, I wasn't gonna say anything negative about the nic. But now that I've seen the generic team logo...blech. Sad that I actually think the Admirals have a better team logo. Yikes.

I don't think it's all that bad. I think it's just fine. What would you rather see if not bonecrushers? Something that describes the city perhaps?

- Condemned Beaches

Bone Crushers fits that pretty well, IMO.

It's too WWF and lunkhead-ish. I'd prefer something generic like the Milwaukee Wildcats by a longshot. I'm sure there are lots of better names out there.
