I don't quite understand people mocking Macha for a decision that he didn't make, or hadn't yet made. Presumably, there are enough things to find on a losing team to pick apart that we don't need to invent things to belittle.

 

I'm glad Cain got the start. I would hope that Macha will choose to let Cain start over the hobbled Edmonds. I'm somewhat pleasantly surprised that he let Cain bat 6th.

Well it's justified because he never plays the young call-ups...just look what he did with Lucroy, oh wait...

Well, Lucroy was basically an emergency call up after Zaun got injured. There's a strong argument for easing a young catcher into the big leagues, rather than just putting him in and giving him start after start, when he may be over his head.

 

It's not like Kottaras was some grizzled veteran without much of a bat, like Jason Kendall or something.
