We look like a team with way too many holes to be a serious competitor to me.

many of those holes can (hopefully) be fixed by Greinke, Hart, Morgan, Saito, and Hawkins getting healthy.

Prince Fielder, one epic fail after another. So easy to pitch to, so predictable. Approaching Jenkins territory.
If by approaching Jenkins territory, you mean one of the best hitters in baseball over the last few years, then I guess I could agree with that.

You know, sometimes pitchers do a good job and get batters to swing and miss.

or almost swing and miss.

If this is our "all in" year, we've got to pull the rip cord on the John Axford experiment. The guy had one good year his whole career, he has not earned a very long leash and right now he is abysmal.
To be fair he had 2 really good years, most of BF.net just didn't know about the first. He'll be fine once he gets his control back, but he's certainly not giving me a warm and fuzzy over his performance thus far this season. I'm not big on the closer concept to start with, so an honest question to those who care about closers, who would you rather have? I'm still concerned about Braddock's 2 MPH drop in velocity in one season, he might have another injury. Loe doesn't need to pitch everyday, but I do like him pitching in the tough situations.

Thanks. Needed to be reminded of some of those...(backs away from cliff...)

Why is Stetter pitching to a RHB?

Yep, his .871 ops with crap defense was AWESOME last year:

because he's the 6th pitcher of the game. i dont think it's really the time to be bringing guys in for just 1 hitter.

great inning for him though.

unfortunately getting deep into the Phillies bullpen does almost nothing for us thru the rest of the series because we will probably see them for something like 2 total innings with Halladay and Lee starting
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Considering the state of the bullpen, Hawkins' return will likely be a welcome sight. Provided he's truly healthy and ready to go, of course.

I hope we've got another Salomon Torres lurking out there in the bullpen somewhere.

Or for that matter, another 2010 model John Axford.

If we're going "all in" can we trade for Chris Perez or Joakim Soria?

well, it wasn't terrible. And his .945 OPS since 07 with crap defense has been pretty awesome for me. I mean, it'd be nice if he was a better hitter than those bums like pujols, cabrera, holliday and a-rod, but i guess i'll take the 5th best OPS in the league over that period

Man, tonight's game with Blanton pitching was the one we needed to get. We may very well get blanked the next two days.

Oh well, I'm off to go pour some hemlock in my ear. G'night all!

I totally forgot about Green and Mitre pitching in the same inning, sorry Mitch.
