It's nice to have 2 Brewers in the derby, but I do not think it will go well for TV ratings and overall buzz. The excitement is down somewhat now that the steroid era is in the past.

 

I would love to see Jayson Stark's idea to have 4 all-stars vs. 4 "BP legends", I would pick: Fielder, Ortiz, Bautista, and Howard vs. Branyan, Dunn, Mike Stanton, and Nelson Cruz.

 

As for tonight, I'm pulling for Prince and Rickie, but I hope it's Bautista if the Brewers can't win it.

The Homerun Derby is probobly my favorite part of the All Star Game festivities. Was never a huge fan of the game itself as it usually just turns into pitching duels.

Two things to add to this thread:

 

1) Check out the youtube videos of Chris Berman going insane on the air. As old as they may be.......they are priceless! I was shocked when I first seen it.

 

2) A local radio station is doing a contest on how many homeruns hit between Prince/Rickie total........I went with 48. Winner gets 2 full passes to Rockfest. The ranges so far are from 2-52 . http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Outside of Berman, I love the HR derby and all of all-star weekend. There must be something in every red-blooded American that makes us love watching a guy hit a baseball 450+ feet.
