The Brewers didn't play very well tonight, but it was a relatively drama-free victory. Do we really expect anything different at this juncture?

Just keep riding the wave for another night.

That's why this win was so big. I expect them to lose tomorrow (which is weird given their record) and will be happy with the 3-1 series and 6-1 homestand.

Clayton is tough.

Morgan seems to think he can get on base without walking. It's worked far longer than I thought it would, but it's been irritating me for awhile now. He has more at-bats than Gomez (263 to 209) and half as many walks as him (14 to 7), just to put it in perspective. He can't hit .320 forever.

Morgan's walk rate is lower than Betancourt's, and that was before both of Yuni B's 4 pitch walks the past few games. I thought about posting that in the Plush-isms thread, but didn't really want to be a negative Nancy and ruin the fun-naturedness of that thread. It's not like he's always been this impatient.

The Starting pitching has been outstanding and yeah a 3-1 vs the dodgers would be great. It really would be nice to see the Offense bust out especially this weekend against the Muts.I be going to at least one and want to see them take another series.

Kershaw vs Wholestaff will be a tough one to win, but expect the unexpected?
I've been thinking that ever since seeing that Kershaw was in line to start Thursday. No offense against Marco+, but can lightning be bottled twice in a week? Here's hoping the crowd starts off fired up (good chance of that) and has reason to stay engaged with the game.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I believe the 19-2 stretch is now the best 21 game stretch in club history. The 1987 Brewers were 18-3 after 21 games as part of a 20-3 start. After that they immediately lost 12 games in a row. So hopefully that doesn't happen again, but it shows how fast things can change in baseball.

JHJ, you're now officially a Brewer. 73-51 are you kidding me?

60-33 since the near perfecto vs. Garcia in St. Louis.

.645 ball, or 105 win pace. Not too shabby.

Casey was trying to draw the throw. He slowed down while he was coming to 2nd watching Kemp. He turned to see what Prince was doing, looked back at Kemp, and then sped back up to go to 3rd.

Counsell should never be allowed to steal again. He got one of the best jumps I've seen. He had his normal lead (the same one that he was almost picked off from). Then he was able to get two crow hops in before the pitcher even started his move to home. I thought for sure he was going to be picked off by 2-3 steps, but the pitcher hadn't noticed. The pitch was in the dirt. The catcher did a good job with it, but it was a high throw. And the 2B was still able to get the glove down in time to make it a clear out.

The Gwynn HR landed two rows behind and three seats over from me. I checked the scoreboard afterwards to see who was pitch hitting. I never thought I'd see a ball hit by Gwynn get over my head. I remember arguing with my softball buddies about him. There were the rumors that we had acquired Dunn (07? 08? 09?). They thought it would be horrible, since he couldn't hit (ie had a low batting average). I argued that I would love to have Dunn. They said they didn't understand why we didn't bring Gwynn up and give him a ML job. I argued that we should trade Gwynn to the Padres for whatever they were stupid enough to give up. We spent more time arguing about those two players than worrying about the game we were playing.
