Gomez probably wouldn't have got to the Pujols hit just because he plays shallower than Kotsay and it was hit hard. Gomez would have made the blooper look routine. There is also no excuse for Hart not catching that ball.

there was also Jay's flare and the missed fly ball to Hart...since he actually did need to record 3 outs to finish the inning, the two I just mentioned add up to 5 outs

sorry. combining the people saying gomez would have caught everything with the people saying 5 outs were necessary. my bad, didn't mean to get snarky...at this point it's a little to easy to do that though. *bows in forgiveness*

still doesn't let Yo off the hook, he pitched poorly that inning.

It wouldn't have been so bad if RR would of stated something other than playing Kotsay because of a hunch.

no doubt. i'm not defending Kotsay playing by blaming Yo as well. Just acknowledging that he didn't look good. Hopefully he calms down...plenty of baseball left.

Morgan isn't playing likely because Roenicke thinks he will be too wild after the Carpenter confrontation. Kotsay is playing becaue he's left handed and Roenicke either doesn't value or can't evaluate defense. Kotsay was a DH in 2010 remember because he couldn't handle 1B and he's now in CF.
