Considering he paid just $8 for the bat

 

Was it a regular sized wood bat? That cheap? Where did you get it and what brand of bat is it?

 

Edit: curious cause at some point this season I want to get Jenks on a bat and have to buy one yet.

First off, it's mattsr0625's bat. We were at the game together. I just want to clear that up.

 

As for the bat, it's a full sized, game used, cracked Jeff Cirillo bat. He got it on ebay last year. He got an absolute steal. I was very jealous at the time because JC is one of my all time favorite players. The only reason I didn't bid on it is because we have an understanding - we don't bid against each other. The first person to find it, gets first dibbs on it.

 

If you look through matts pictures I'm pretty sure he has a photo of the bat.

Thanks for the clearup 20fry. Yeah I think a friend of mine told me you can get nice rawlings wood bats for like $20 at shopko or something like that. That is probably the bat I will buy.

If your not in a hurry and have some time to wait out a deal, you can usually find game used pro stock Louisville sluggers for under $25. There have no name on the bat, but many have pine tar/tape on the handles. They display nice and are good for random autos.

 

Otherwise a new unused L.S. can also be had for about the same amount. Get a nice black LS for Jenk's. His signature is "ok", so a nice looking bat will help make it a nice piece.

there have been a few Cirillo bats on ebay within the last few months..however they have been a little to high for me.

 

when I get players autos on a bat, I go with the black bat with silver paint pen..I need to get some game used items

well he most likely won't they normally have younger players do that, but Burghardt's always has a decent selection, not $25 necessarily, but definintly for under $40, that is the only place that I have bought my bats...

believe me, its a pain in the butt to carry a bat around..Last year I carried my bat to every game I went to (18 games). The bat has over 40 autographs on it, so in the end it was worth it.

I guess if all else fails then I might have to carry a bat to a game. I know younger players normally do the signings, but maybe Jenks will, I can hope I guess.

I get the Rawlings Big Stick bats off ebay for like $30 shipped. They are nice looking bats.

Just dont know if I can get there early enough. Plus what do you do just sit there and then mob them when they get out of their car? I would feel weird doing that.

BC, I just purchased a lot of 24 game used bats. When they arrive I'll PM you. I'm sure I can find you a nice bat suitable for what you want, and under your price too.

 

All the bats were spring training and arizona fall league excess.

Well, I consider myself a bat collector and I find that almost all game used bats that are available (reasonably priced) are cracked. For the most part, thats why they are available.

 

Bats get used till they break. I have 18 signed or game used Brewers bats in addition to the two dozen misc bats and all but the a few are cracked. Thats just the way it is. Most are cracked in a way that does not detract from the look of the bat. None of my bats have any large chunks missing.

 

No biggie.

actually you don't mob them at all, there are some really annoying people that are there every game, and they do the yelling, and then after they come over you can talk to them like normal...

I would say no later than 7, and you should have plenty of time,they are normally in 4 hours before the game...
