Don Walker posted the following on JSOnline on March 8 (http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/141916283.html). If you're like me and thrive on ballpark minutiae, this will probably interest you:

The Milwaukee Brewers have announced some relatively minor changes at Miller Park for the upcoming season.

The changes include:

1. At the Club Level, the retail space near the Home Plate Lounge will be expanded to create an enclosed 800-square foot Brewers team store.

2. On the Field Level, near the "Hot Corner" area, the Brewers plan to build a new "Bernie's Chalet" they say will resemble the old Bernie's Chalet from County Stadium. The team plans to sell custom-made Brewers merchandise there.

3. The newly named ATI Club on the field in right field will get new signage and an updated layout.

4. Some minor changes are planned for the Gehl Club, the Harley-Davidson Deck and the NYCE Stadium Club Patio.

5. The old 2008 Brewers Party Suite on the Club Level will now be called the 2011 Brewers Party Suite. The makeover will be representative of the 2011 National League Central championship.

6. At Helfaer Field, the facility will be repainted and misters will be added above the concourse.

Sorry to those of you who really geeked out on "old" 2008-style nostalgia. Here's hoping the Brewers soon have reason to 'upgrade' the 2011 party suite.

Hopefully the new store on the Club level doesn't take up too much new space. It can get crowded in that area by the bar at times. Unless they are going to stop the chef food stations and just put the store there.

they also added a "2011 Central Division Champs" flag/banner/sign to compliment the other playoff appearances. I know that that's probably so obvious it was left out, but an addition nonetheless

This link is to a brewers.com release that fleshes out the information in my lead post just a bit.

What I found notable (read:a little weird) was that the "Bernie's Chalet" custom-item store being added to the field level Hot Corner will include, wait for it, "a glimpse of the inside of Bernie Brewer's bedroom." Not sure fans were clamoring for that, but there you go.

Hey, if it includes the Bonnie Brewer swimsuit layout, I'm sure that would up sales!

I'am glad every year they do upgrades to Miller Park. Im convinced that if Wendy Selig still owned the team Miller park would look virtually the same as when it opened. Mark has done upgrades and improvements to the park every single year.

Don Walker at JSOnline also posted today about some new food items - for those of you who don't want to wait until state fair time for deep fried food - and some price changes for existing food items:

Deep-fried bacon, deep-fried cheesecake, funnel cake fries. These sound too deep-fried for me, but maybe they sound more appealing to you.

That sucks. It will be bad for my waistline and bad for my wallet. But the "Fry Bar" will be right next to my section so I'll have to smell it at every game. My Temptation Meter at MP just went up.

anyone else see a list of the 15 new food items, the only thing i can find is the walker article which only lists a few of them.

I believe they will announce them tomorrow.

I don't know if this has been covered in an IGT or somewhere else, but I noticed a change to the match game on Opening Day. Last year, this was sponsored by Frontier and if you won I believe you got some type of Frontier prize (tickets, fly bucks, etc.). This year, it is sponsored by Topps, and if you win, you get a pack of Topps baseball cards. That seems like somewhat of a downgrade.

It seemed like everywhere I looked this weekend, concession stands were offering BBQ beef brisket in various formats. OK, not quite literally, but the emphasis on BBQBB seems to have increased.

BBQ beef brisket baked potato? I'm waiting on a BBQBB cupcake next.

Also, in food-based MP minutiae, there is now a pulled pork parfait Twitter account (@millerparkpork).

The color of the infield dirt was just about the first thing I noticed upon entering the seating bowl on Friday. It'd be interesting to know what's up with that.

They talked about it on tv the other day. It's softer. A hard chopper into the ground should no longer bounce through. They might have said other stuff. If so, I forgot.

I guess I'll just have to walk around the ballpark one of these games and figure out all the new foods for myself. I havent seen an article or announcement anywhere listing all the new foods at Miller Park.

Anyone else notice that the infield dirt has changed this season? I first noticed it yesterday. Last year it was the same as the dirt on the warning track and around the field. This year it's a different color. Anyone have any info on this?

I missed some of what they said, but the gist of it was the new head groundskeeper came up with a new dirt mix this year for the infield that will play softer and hopefully smoother.

Alright, thanks for the info. I was at both of the games that were local broadcasts so far, so I didn't catch that.

Quiet, you! Clearly this is just like the real world where you sit babbling in the corner while nobody pays attention.

Lol, sorry man. I skipped to the last page of the topic first. Didn't see your post right away. Appreciate the info.
