To answer the inevitable; no one knows why Lucroy is out right this moment. Kottaras was told to get ready to catch right before the lineup came out.

Edit: Couldn't even beat the inevitable question! :D

If that's the best Kottaras can do, the Dodgers ought to be running on every pitch. This might get ugly. I just hope Kottaras is hustlin' and ends up throwing out Bobby Abreu.

i was looking forward to watching some baseball tonight, but i'm not sure i can handle this...

You know times are rough when you're saying that after the 1st inning.

No matter how ugly this game/series gets (and I'm not saying that because I'm freaking out down 1-0, this is just a general observation) i'll be able to watch because I could listen to vin scully talk about anything.

What I don't understand is why we didn't just decide to call up Maldonado instead of Conrad after we knew Kottaras was hurt. It would've been some protection for a few days, and then a move could've been made after that. It looks especially bad now that Lucroy got hurt too.

Adam McCalvy says that Conrad and Green could be emergency catchers. Part of me (just part) wishes they'd put one of them in behind the plate, just so George's hamstring doesn't get worse.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

If it weren't for injuries, I'd love to see more teams play around with ridiculous defensive configurations. Hart at SS? Why not? Put Axford at catcher, Braun at pitcher, and watch the hilarity ensue.

Why do I feel like that sort of play - the Abreu sliding catch - would have resulted in no less than two injuries to our players, while the ball was dropped.

Awesome, I thought ARam would be out for a bit with a slump to follow
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.
