I'll never understand the Pirates. When they were going good last year, their bullpen was the strength of the team. They've been blowing it up ever since. I've got to think that this one is a money move.

I can understand why the Pirates would trade Hanrahan for prospects, but it doesn't look like they got much for him unless Sands disproves scouts doubts about his ability to produce a lot in the majors.

I don't know much about the prospects exchanged. How would you compare the players BOS sent to prospects in the Brewers system?

They probably realize his arm is shot given what his peripherals looked like last year. He had an awful year last year that was masked by some luck in the ERA.

He's a closer. Easily replaceable so you might as well get something for him before you have to start paying for his saves. I really hope the Brewers do it with Axford.
