if k-rod is indeed signing, i would think that brooks hall would be the guy the club would try to outright.

brooks hall has been outrighted to aaa colorado springs. the roster is at 39 for the moment.

Made the most sense, wasn't likely to get claimed at this point and they can just add him back to the 40 man after the season if he impresses in the minors this year.

Brewers were granted a 4th option year with Johnny Hellweg, and made use of it today. If he's still on the 40-man in 2016, he must stick at the MLB level going forward.

 

Obviously Hellweg could be optioned multiple times in 2015...

wei-chung wang optioned to class a brevard county today. he will enter 2016 spring training with two minor league options remaining. knowing he was destined to be optioned, he has stated that his goal is to recalled in september of this year.

Sardinas struggled for the most part offensively but had a couple of really good games going 4/4 in one and 3/3 in another. Hopefully he can gain some offensive consistency in the minors.

He was the guy that spiked a throw about 15 yards in front of him last year, right? Even ignoring that, he didn't look halfway comfortable in the OF when he was out there to my untrained eye.

2008. in every year since, at least one player on a minor league contract has made the opening day roster. chris perez, matt long and elian herrera have to be feeling good about that.

Brandon Kintzler hasn't pitched in minors since 2012, but his second option (one remaining) places him at AAA to start 2015. In addition to 2012, he was optioned in 2011, but that one was less than 20 days and did not count.

Kintzler avoided arbitration to make $1.075 million guaranteed, so he'll be an expensive talent stash at AAA for the Brewers.

Morris' future (not in Brewer system, hardly "destroyed") seems to me to have been a foregone conclusion since Clark heated up in AAA last year. The entire AAA roster is left handed hitters as it is.
