You have to consider moving Segura to 7th or 8th in the order at this point.

Who do you put at second? Segura is cold right now, but he really hasn't been that bad.

.220/.273/.293. He actually has been that bad and he's been that bad going back to the second half of last season.

Entering today Segura is averaging the fewest pitches per PA, 2.98, in the National League

And that's part of the problem. He's hitting in front of Braun and Ramirez. He needs to be more selective and look for pitches he can drive, get the count in his favor. He's swinging at everything, and teams are realizing that they don't have to throw him strikes early in the count and he will likely get himself out.

For a shortstop in a small sample size at the beginning of the season, that is bad but it is not catastrophic. Prince Fielder is hitting .159/.260/.205. I agree he has looked poor in this series though, and that a day off might help.

This. Well said.

Lohse at 63 pitches through 6 innings. A complete game would sure be pretty nice as a gift to the pen which has been awesome so far.

HA. Well that's not exactly what I had in mind, but sometimes things just go your way.

Another failure to hit a sac fly...but good grief. I don't even know what to say on that, lol.

Gameday just said strikeout, but then nothing happened for 3 minutes so I figured the Pirates screwed something up.

Wow, I won't fault Schafer too much for the failure as that was an absolute rocket but that's two in a row without a sac fly. Just frustrates me. Though hard to complain after they just handed us the two runs.
