Yeah, it seems to be getting fairly out of control. I'm glad I grabbed a few letters before things skyrocketed, but frustrated that I'm going to be screwed in getting the tough ones.

Hmm..

Good Mystery Scooby-Doo --

My first thought was that some goon at UD dropped some-one else's letters in Carpenter's cards.. but that is Carpenter's sig. for sure. I doubt that Carpenter would sign letters not in his name -- so my guess, is that instead of "Carpenter" or "Chris" (or perhaps in addition) -- It's "Cy Young".

I doubt it is an error.

BTW --

That is a cool item the "SHEETS" -- Generally speaking I am not a big fan of the UD signed stuff, as they use those stupid stickers. I like the "signed card" that Topps generally does, but I think UD is out of control with those stickers. --- but this is a cool set, I could totally get into it.

Have you (or anyone else) found a good way to display these? I have them in Pro-Mold holders like above, but I'm afraid those'll fall over if I just stand them upright. Any thoughts/ideas for what has or will work?

Peavy - No, not sure yet. I was thinking a little shelf that has a grove cut out on the bottom so you could lean the cards up against the wall and they would all fit nicely in that groove leaning against the wall if you can picture what I mean, but I haven't tried it yet.

I use the Snap-tite holders for mine, although they may be the same as the ones you guys are discussing. They also sell screwdowns for the thick ones like these and sweet spot. The stands can be bought from one of the supply companies. They sell clear or black ones, and they are pretty cheap. Love the Sheets spelled out, that is great. I started to spell my own last name, but lost interest quickly with the prices. I have an I from Hanley Ramirez and an N from Josh Willingham. At some point I may finish, I only need four more. Saw some familiar cards in BD25's picture post. Here are a couple from my collection. The majority of my collection (excepting the stuff too lazy to scan) can be found here

Yeah rwa, I think we're talking about the same style of holder. But these cards are so thick, the holders I have are roughly a half inch thick. So, they're not quite thick enough to stand alone with out tipping, but too thick for the stands that I've got for other cards.

I started to spell my own last name

That's a great idea -- I could do that for my son -- are Sheets and Weeks the only Brewers? -- His name is "Tate" -- so I could get the T from Sheets and the E from Weeks -- any ideas on the other T and A?

(I said T&A, heh)

If you don't care if they are Brewers players, I would use some of the "lesser" names. Guys like Dan Haren, Joe Nathan, Hanley Ramirez and Josh Willingham can usually be had for under $20 DLVD. Good luck, I'll probably finish at some point.
