Trade with the Cardinals...

I might be banned for even suggesting this but they have black holes at 1B and CF which we currently have two very good players at those positions. While we might add to their chances of winning yet another World Series, could this be the right time to set up our future while hurting theirs? The Axford for Blazek trade was nice but maybe we can get a stud or two from an organization that seems to draft very well.

Dealing them an Axford is one thing. Filling holes for them going beyond this year is quite another. The Cardinals could turn around and deal Lind after the season and essentially replace what they gave up to get him. Unless they significantly overpaid which isn't the Cardinal way, look elsewhere.

They have at least one elite prospect in RHP Alex Reyes. Would love to somehow get him in our system, though seeing Gomez in a Cardinals uniform would feel particularly dystopian.
