Sure, I'd have no problem with it. Had a really weird year last year with a nice ERA but terrible FIP. He did finish strong, so I don't know. He's obviously cheap and so if you can add him and stash a guy with options that otherwise would have made the roster, why not.

Wait, late inning relief is sketchy? Unproven maybe, but we're loaded.

cl- Feliz

setup- Joba, Barnes, Blazek, Knebel, Magnifico (maybe)

mid- Suter, Torres, Marinez

The late inning relief is sketchy and he will be better than Cravy.

I'd rather keep with Cravy. The guy has struggled when asked to start, but done pretty well in relief. He's had a 2.18 ERA as a reliever (33 IP) vs a 6.09 ERA as a starter (38 IP). Obviously, small sample sizes.

Diaz certainly seems like a Melvin guy, hard thrower with not much else going for him. Stearns seems to like guys that can consistently throw strikes. I lean more towards the Stearns view of things so I would pass on him.
