Alex Colome

Tampa seems focused on dumping salary without a ton of regard to return. Colome's high price tag probably makes him available for a fairly low return, and I'd certainly hope we're at least inquiring.

Tampa is at least listening on Colome, because he’s making 5.3M this year, with two more arbitration years left - they want to cut some more payroll.

Is the Brewers’ bullpen good enough for you, or would you pursue this?

No matter how good it is, I hope (& have faith) that Stearns will always jump at the chance to make it better. Or the rotation, or the lineup.

This Tampa sale is a bit surprising, I think I'd be inclined to ask them about anyone.

I'm not a big Colome fan. He's certainly solid but I think his 2017 is more what he is than his great 2016 and think you'd have to pay a premium because he has all those saves the last two years, which is one of the dumbest stats ever. Looking at Colome's stats from 2016 to 2017 it wouldn't overly surprise me to see a similar dip from Knebel this year. Certainly he will remain effective and is fine as a closer, just not put up such crazy numbers and have some regression.
