On a side note, I love that almost no one is here and watching this game and are watching a collapsing football franchise instead.

I'm watching both.
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

I'm watching both games. Packer game could be seriously different without the 3rd down dropped passes by good receivers. Rodgers gets a score and who knows.

Really hope STL managers to blow their game today. give us a 3 game lead back

Gotta put some combination of Burnes and Woodruff/hader/peralta in the rotation next year. The high ceiling, cheap guys have to balance out the middle ceiling, expensive guys. That with some one to hit cleanup would put this team over the top.

Is Harrison a free agent or something? Got a pretty good standing ovation.

BA said there's a team option. I thought it was a little ridiculous all the guys hugging Harrison and Mercer. There's still a week of games left. This isn't the last time you're going to see them.

Pirates have two team options in 2019 and 2020, but they will likely exercise their $1 million buyout instead of paying Harrison the $10.5 million option next year.

Let’s see what Colorado does tonight. If they lose, we could be really close to clinching with a win tomorrow and a Colorado loss tomorrow!

For the poster who said the Brewers weren't playing like a division winner down the stretch

Brewers have won 9 of last 10 series

They arent going to win the division..... it they have played very well.

Cubs just were a little better.

Have won 9 of 10 series and the sky was falling during yesterday’s game.

That is what I wanted to see from Albers: absolutely nothing to suggest he might have figured it out. See you next year.

Corey gets the win. I am so glad he is back and the Corey we need. Big homers by Shaw, Moose and MVP Yelich. All those errors by Feliz. Must be a record.

If you lose any game it's a sign of a possible imminent collapse. You gotta call it right away so you can say you're right in case it happens.

Same thing will happen when/if they lose the playoff game or series. A bunch of I told yas will fly.

Not sure if you are referring to me, but it really do any matter. I’ll stand by my comment that the Brewers didn’t play as well as the Cubs did when it was only a one-game difference. Not winning that one series against the Pirates put us in a position where winning the division wasn’t realistically possible. The Brewers have had a great season, and have been really great during this stretch, but they didn’t do enough to overtake the Cubs. Unless a miracle happens and somehow the Brewers wn the division, they didn’t play good enough.

That being said I’m very excited for the likelihood of the Wild Card game. I will be extremely nervous as who knows if the offense will show up or not. This team is good enough to win it all, but could easily lose the Wild Card, so not taking advantage of opportunities earlier and winning the division is unfortunate.

EVERY game matters! At times during the season, this board made it sound like it was only one game, and losing didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. As we found out last year, EVERY game matters...
