Cruikshank run out of the wildcat was huge to flip field position a little bit.

 

Would’ve been equally huge for the D to get off the field on 3rd there, but athleticism at QB will buy you those type of plays. With the sack here, need to get off the field while they’re behind the chains.

 

Offensively I know it’s crappy weather but they have to make plays in the passing game. They aren’t going to consistently run on this front.

Well, sure. But it’s a three point game near the half. Considering that “fans” and “experts” have this like 42-17 or whatever, keeping this close, even if ugly, means this is a game.

Without a down field threat there are 11 guys within 15 yards of the LOS. Take the kid gloves off of Coan or play Mertz. At this point it’s obvious we’re not going to march the ball down the field against this defensive front.
