Well, Ray Black is fun. Didn't see any 100s, but sitting consistently at 98-99, with a nice breaking ball at 84-85. Would be nice if that FB had a little more movement, because good hitters are going kill it if it isn't up in the zone.

Hiura’s arm is soooooo bad. Good snag by Thames.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Looked like he was throwing a dang shot put. DH cannot get to the NL soon enough.

I agree. If it’s this bad now, can’t imagine what it’ll be like as he ages.

Gamel has been horrific lately ... he's now into the 230's for the season.

Having him and Grisham is a little redundant to boot. I didn't think it would be possible a month ago, but he's working his way toward an option to AAA.

Agreed. Be an easy way to get you know who up to be another right handed bat off the bench.

That's what Coach Cooper said about my arm, and he was right. Mean.....but right.

I think it's funny that the guy has basically turned into the Lord Voldemort of journeyman veteran catchers.

On a serious note, I'd try to preserve his last option year. Either stay the course for a couple weeks and wait for reinforcements in September or go the phantom IL route.

Double digits in LOB, again.

The mirage of beating the Pirates actually hurts because they think they are in it even though realistically they aren't. You just can't win enough consistently when you can't score. Dead ball era maybe. Not in today's juiced era.

The bullpen has been phenomenal today. I know ... hill of beans if they don't come back, but this Twins lineup is scary good, and the relief staff has shut them down. Perhaps in hindsight a bullpen day would have been a better bet?

Braun’s struggles as a PH continue.
